About painting album History:
“Moon Lithuania” – This is a large format work from the cycle of paintings “History”. The work is based on the childhood memories of an independent Lithuania. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lithuania became an independent state and it was difficult to grow not only because of its economic, but also psychological and social situation. Everyone enjoyed their freedom and made their lives payable. In the picture I depict myself, my sister and brother. We were kids, we were playing, and the environment at that time was like an empty moon with many opportunities for the future. Wanted to create, build, plant …
“Triptych Astronauts” – The painting belongs to the cycle of paintings “History”. The work is based on the childhood memories of an independent Lithuania. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lithuania became an independent state and it was difficult to grow not only because of its economic, but also psychological and social situation. Everyone enjoyed their freedom and made their lives payable. In the picture I depict sister, myself and my brother. We have three kids in our family, playing together and the environment at that time was like an empty moon with many opportunities for the future. Wanted to create, build, plant and much to discover … In the picture, I capture the state of discovery and confusion.
“Pripyat” – Work on the 86th time, born in the Soviet times, and only a small gray, poor reality, without freedom, self-expression, etc., have come to light. As a result, escape, change. And what about the Chernobyl disaster. The work is dedicated to them to remember when he turned 86.
“Generation 86″ – The work is dedicated to the last generation of Soviet times in Lithuania. 86th year, my year of birth. Perestroika. When we started to smell freedom in Lithuania, but we all had to be the same. It was a time when we were not happy and enjoyed by any individual initiatives. All people are the same, clothes, home, dolls. Everything around, but there was a feeling that it was over.
“The Dawn Trail” – The fifth collection of nine paintings (history) dedicated to the history of Lithuania and the search for Lithuanian language. Remember Lithuanian Jews who died during the Second World War. The Dawn Trail is an alley in Šiauliai, whose pavement is molded from Jewish tombstones, during the soviet era, by destroying the cemetery used for the floor. This is not a tragedy of a single nation, it’s a tragedy of all mankind that can not be forgotten, but to protect us from future mistakes.
“The Paradise Of Shoes” – one of the nine painting artworks (Collection), dedicated to the history of Lithuania and lithuanian identity. To remember lithuanian intelligents, who had been exiled in 1944, imprisoned and died in Stutthof concentration camp. So many people had been passed through destruction machine, but the nation have been surrvided and still it is breathing. It is important to remember and feel our ancestry.
“Dalia. Or Childs Of Ice” – 4 of 9 painting artworks collection, which is dedicated to the history of Lithuania and lithuanian identity. To remember Dalia Grinkevičiūtė and all children who had been exiled to Siberia. Especially, who had been imprisioned beyond the Polar Pole. And it’s a great joy, that after it we managed to grow up.
God-trees. “Godtrees” is the second painting from nine artworks collection, which is (also) dedicated for Lithuanian history and lithuanian identity. There I represent the composition of 50 partisan’s and ordinary soldier’s portaits with aim to remember the the drama of Lithuanian history after the World War II and trying to receive the Lithianian independence. It is about the Resistance movement and it’s tragedy in the end. Son’s of nation heroism, patriotism, which is actuall and nowadays. I request to look at your self and to ask, if I’m grown up, mature already?
“Fluxhouse” is one of the nine painting artworks, one part of the collection, which is dedicated for Lithuanian history and lithuanian identity. It is generation of emigrants in period and after it of the World War II, which moved over from Lithuania. In my opinion, it was hudge cultural and intellectual shock for lithuanian nation. Many of artists, writters, scientists, polititions and public figures moved to west. If wouldn’t be “Us”, refugees, emigrants, how we would look like today? And what is more, do we not repeating the history today?
